Door Locks
The Peugeot 3008 remote key system enables the owner to lock and unlock their vehicle at the touch of a button on the key fob. Contrary to the traditional key, which has a key hole that is physical, this key fob stores an encrypted replica of the car key inside.
It does this by utilizing the radio signal which can only be transmitted when the key is at a certain distance from car. When the signal is detected an internal solenoid within the door lock transforms the electronic signal into the mechanical action. This causes a rod to control the car door locks, the same way the physical key would.

Immobiliser
Peugeot was one of the first manufacturers to install an immobiliser inside the key.
